Meet Our Pastor
Reverend Pamela D. Estey
Originally from Newfoundland and Labrador, Pamela arrived in Nova Scotia over 30 years ago to begin her undergraduate studies at Acadia. After working as a small business owner and personal care worker, she answered the call to ministry, receiving her Master of Divinity in 2004 and becoming ordained in 2005 at Canning United Baptist Church. Pamela’s ordination is recognized by both the Canadian Baptists of Atlantic Canada (CBAC) and the Canadian Association for Baptist Freedoms (CABF). She has served in various pastoral roles in a number of Annapolis Valley churches and has spent considerable time working with youth and music ministries over the past 35 years. She also served as Executive Director of Kingswood Camp in Aylesford, Nova Scotia for four years, and now works full-time as the Interfaith Spiritual Care Practitioner/Chaplain at Dartmouth General Hospital.
Since moving to the Halifax area in 2014, Pamela has participated in local church ministries and volunteered on numerous committees including the Halifax Baptist Hospital Chaplaincy, the Atlantic Society for Biblical Equality (ASBE), and the Canadian Association for Spiritual Care (CASC). Most recently, she served as part of the Worship Team at First Baptist Church – Hammonds Plains.
In her free time, Pamela does private consulting work and is working on completing her Doctor of Ministry at Acadia, focusing on trauma-sensitive churches and faith-based organizations. She also enjoys trying new foods, recreating recipes at home, playing games, collecting coins and stamps, doing nature hikes, and watching sunsets.
